WHO ARE YOUR ADOPTABLE DOGS?

  • You can find our adoptable dogs here. You can also check out our Instagram page (@KoreanPawsRescue) to see more pictures and videos. We try to keep everything updated, but if you have any questions about a dog, please feel free to reach out at apply@koreanpawsrescue.org

HOW OLD ARE THE DOGS THAT YOU RESCUE?

  • We rescue dogs of all ages! Sometimes they’re under 6 months and sometimes we find some special dogs that are 7+ years old. We don’t discriminate against age and want to give each dog a chance to find their forever family!

IS THERE AN AGE REQUIREMENT FOR ADOPTERS?

  • Yes, we require all applicants to be at least 24 years of age.
  • Please click here to see all of our basic requirements.

DO YOU HAVE ANY RESTRICTIONS FOR APPLICANTS WITH CHILDREN?

  • We require that all children in the home be 6 years of age or older
  • Please click here to see all of our basic requirements.

CAN I CHOOSE ANY DOG I WANT TO ADOPT?

  • Of course! But please make sure to read about them and see if you really think they’re a good fit for your lifestyle. If we feel a dog would not be a good match for you based on your application, we can suggest other dogs based on your lifestyle (if any are available)
  • You can find our adoptable dogs here.

ARE THERE DOGS THAT ARE ADOPTABLE LOCALLY?

  • Locally to us is Atlanta, GA and yes! We have available dogs!

HOW LONG DOES THE APPLICATION/ADOPTION PROCESS TAKE?

  • It usually takes around 1-2 weeks. We really try to review applications and conduct interviews ASAP, but at times, it can take a little longer.
  • Another factor to the process is the dog’s flight once an adoption has been approved. This is dependent on if we have a flight volunteer and when they will fly. Again, we try to find one ASAP, but sometimes, it can take longer than 2 weeks.

WHY DO I NEED TO SUBMIT PICTURES OF MY HOUSE?

  • We understand this can be an invasion of privacy but this is to make sure we’re giving our dogs the best home. This includes bedrooms (sleeping arrangement), yard (for energetic dogs), and general layout of the home.
  • Instead of visiting your house, this will be the replacement for the home check.

WILL I STILL HEAR BACK IF I’M MY APPLICATION IS NOT APPROVED?

  • We try to get back to everyone whether they are or are not approved. We often get several emails a day and lose track of responses. If you haven’t heard back and are curious about the status of your application, please reach out to us and we’ll be happy to give you an update on your application.

WHY WASN’T MY APPLICATION APPROVED?

  • We understand this can be very upsetting and we’re sorry. But… our priority and mission above all is finding these dogs the BEST home for them – we don’t believe in just placing dogs randomly to get them “out” without consideration to whether it’s a good match.
  • We speak closely with the rescues in Korean as well as the fosters to understand the dog’s personality and needs. Sometimes there will be aspects about an applicant that we feel will deter the dog’s success. We not only want the dog to live a happy life, but we also try to ensure successful adoptions and sometimes that means we need to be careful who we adopt out to.
  • If you have not been approved and would like more information, please reach out us – we can explain and may even have another dog that would fit your lifestyle better.

ARE ALL YOUR ADOPTABLE DOGS UP TO DATE WITH VACCINATIONS?

  • Absolutely! This is important to the dog’s health so the rescues in Korea and our foster facility make sure they are all up to date.

WILL MY DOG BE SPAYED/NEUTERED? IS THAT A REQUIREMENT?

  • Any spays/neuters usually happen by the time of their flight. They will need to be spayed/neutered as part of our rescue’s requirement.

WILL I RECEIVE ANY MEDICAL RECORDS FOR MY DOG?

  • Yes! We will get all records available for the adopted dog and send them to you.

IS THE TRANSPORT METHOD SAFE?

  • Safety is very important to us. Dogs are brought to the vet to be medically cleared before their flight. Flight cargo is the safest options for dogs as their crates allow them more space & access to water. They are in a pressure and temperature controlled area, so even traveling in the summer or winter is safe for them.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU GET TRANSPORT VOLUNTEERS?

  • This totally varies based on availability. Sometimes we get people emailing us notifying us of upcoming flights and other times, we turn to our social media to help us find a flight volunteer.
  • If you are traveling from Korea to the states this year please let us know OR if you know of someone traveling, please share! If we don’t need the flight, we have friend rescues we can let know.
