Genie was found as a stray at only 3 months old and sent to the kill shelter 😢Thankfully was was rescued and has been in a foster home for about a month now learning what it’s like to be in a home ❤️‍🩹

Since she was in a kill shelter, she is a little cautious towards strangers. She’s slower to warm up, but once she learns to trust a person, she is very affectionate. She loves to snuggle right up next to her people🥰 She’s even done amazing at the vet!
Another aspect of her spending vital puppy months in a shelter is that she is not fond of a crate and doesn’t do good. This is probably related to some trauma and her time spent in one at the shelter 💔
*They tend to be in horrible conditions, little care, outdoor, crowded cages with other dogs and wire floors (last photo of her in the shelter)

From her time in foster care, they have learned how sweet she is 😍Although she is scared of children, she loves other dogs and would love a home with another [confident] doggie sibling🐶 She’s also good with cats. Her current foster has a cat, but said that Genie is uninterested in chasing or barking 🐶🐱 She’s doing well on a leash, but is scared of loud noises (like traffic/honking) and will sit down or go to the other side 🥺
