RESCUE STORY

Winter’s story began before she was even born.

Her mother, Chloe, was abandoned on an island in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea while pregnant. Thankfully, Chloe was rescued, giving her puppies the chance to be born and raised somewhere safe.

Winter and her sister April grew up together and shared a very close bond.

They were initially looking for a forever home together, but more recently, the sisters moved into separate foster homes.

This transition has given us the opportunity to learn more about Winter as an individual—and she has shown us that she can adjust well and build confidence independently.

Because of this, Winter and April no longer need to be adopted together.

Their mom, Chloe, has already found her forever family.

PERSONALITY & TEMPERAMENT

Winter is a gentle, calm, and easygoing young girl with a soft personality.

She has a lovely low-to-medium energy level and is generally quiet and well behaved.

She isn’t a dog who constantly demands attention or needs to be in the middle of everything.

Winter enjoys affection and being touched, and she appreciates having companionship around her.

She seems to have a nice balance between enjoying her people and enjoying the company of other dogs.

She does not show destructive behavior and has no known issues with resource guarding around food or toys.

Winter is the kind of little dog whose quiet sweetness may not demand your attention immediately—but the more you get to know her, the more special she becomes.

SOCIALIZATION

With Women: Good
With Men: Good
With Children: Not yet tested
With Other Dogs: Very good
With Cats: Not yet tested

Winter gets along well with other dogs and does not appear to have any particular type of dog she dislikes.

She is not usually the one constantly initiating play and is comfortable simply sharing space and companionship with other dogs.

She has not yet had the opportunity to live with children or cats. Based on her generally gentle temperament, her rescuer feels she may do well with appropriate introductions, but this has not been formally tested.

TRAINING & HOME LIFE

Winter accepts walking on leash without resistance and is continuing to gain everyday life experience.

She has experience pottying both indoors and outdoors.

She is currently continuing her kennel/crate training.

Winter is generally a low barker and has not shown destructive chewing or other concerning behaviors in her current environment.

As with any young rescue dog transitioning into a completely new home, she will need patience, consistency, positive reinforcement, and time to learn her new family’s routine.

HEALTH

Winter is currently healthy with no known past or present health concerns.

She is spayed and ready to begin the next chapter of her life with her forever family.

IDEAL HOME

Winter may be independent enough to live separately from her sister, but that does not mean she is a dog who would thrive spending most of her day alone.

She is a companion-oriented girl who enjoys having people or another dog nearby and would be happiest in a home where companionship is a regular part of her everyday life.

For this reason, homes where Winter would routinely be left alone for long hours will not be considered.

A family with a flexible schedule, someone who works from home, is retired, or simply has a lifestyle that allows plenty of time with her could be a wonderful fit.

A compatible canine sibling would also be a lovely bonus, as Winter gets along beautifully with other dogs, though another dog is not necessarily required for the right home.

Most importantly, Winter needs a family who understands that even a quiet, easygoing dog needs connection, guidance, and time together.

After spending her first year beside her sister, Winter is now learning that she can have a life and identity of her own.
