Blake’s Story

Blake spent nearly 4 years of his life tied to a short chain. He survived by eating leftover food waste and drinking dirty water.
His previous owner only visited him to throw out scraps.

When Blake was diagnosed with Babesia (a tick-borne disease), the owner surrendered him to our partner rescue — a heartbreaking beginning, but also the start of his new life.

Blake has since completed treatments for Babesia and heartworm, and now has a clean bill of health.

Personality & Temperament

• • Very gentle and easygoing
  • Blake used to be shy, but he has grown into a friendly, social dog who enjoys the company of both people and other dogs.

• Not overly clingy — prefers calm affection.

• Enjoys lounging and quiet companionship (yes, he’s a couch potato!)
• Great with people of all ages, including children

• Gets along well with dogs
  • Best matched with female dogs or calm males (he currently lives with both)
  • Needs a proper intro with adult male dogs
• Cats: Not officially tested, but showed good behavior in a casual indoor cat meet
