A Quiet Survivor with a Loyal Heart
Haru was born on the streets and grew up there with her siblings until she was about one year old. They lived in a quiet, remote area, but when they eventually wandered closer to town, residents reported them. Haru was at risk of being taken to a municipal shelter where euthanasia is practiced.
When rescuers stepped in, they discovered something urgent — Haru was pregnant and in poor condition. She was carrying four puppies and was also infected with Babesia, a tick-borne disease. One of the puppies was positioned dangerously near her cervix, putting Haru’s life at serious risk.
She was rescued just in time. Haru underwent emergency spay surgery and completed treatment for Babesia. She has since tested negative and is now fully healthy.
She survived so much — and now she’s ready for a safe, loving forever home.
Personality & Social Life
Haru is naturally intelligent and observant. Even on the streets, she was the smartest of her siblings and tended to stay close to people.
She is:
• Loyal and deeply devoted to her person
• Gentle and calm by nature
• Initially shy with strangers
• Very affectionate once bonded
• Social and friendly with other dogs
Haru takes time to open her heart. She may feel fearful around new people and does not approach visitors right away. However, once she trusts someone, she bonds very deeply and follows them well.
She is the type of dog who gives her whole heart to one person.
With her foster, she now wags her tail when her name is called, jumps onto the bed for cuddles, and asks to be petted.
With People (Men / Women / Children)
Haru needs time to warm up to anyone outside of her foster caregiver. She does not avoid her foster’s touch and actively seeks affection.
She would do best with a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. A calm household would suit her best.
With Other Dogs
Haru is very social with dogs and shows friendly behavior toward all sizes.
She currently lives with medium-sized adult mixed dogs (13–22kg) and gets along with everyone without any issues.
• Indoors: She mostly rests and sleeps peacefully.
• In the yard or on walks: She becomes playful, initiates play, and runs around happily.
When meeting dogs on leash, she may bark briefly at first but is generally social.
Cats, Rabbits, Birds
• Cats/Rabbits: Not tested
• Birds: She shows interest in birds outdoors and may want to chase them.
Separation Anxiety / Destructive Behavior
She has not shown separation anxiety or destructive behaviors.
Car Rides
Haru rides well in the car and does not get motion sickness.
Walks & Leash Skills
She is calm and curious on walks.
She walks slowly and enjoys exploring.
She especially loves rubbing her body on the ground during walks — almost like she’s putting on perfume 🥹
She does not show extreme pulling or panic behaviors.
Crate Training
Crate training is currently in progress.
Grooming
Haru can be fearful when someone tries to handle her body for bathing or brushing. She will need gentle, patient handling and positive reinforcement to build comfort with grooming.
Potty Training
She is currently 100% outdoor potty trained.
Medical History
• Completed treatment and tested negative
• Currently healthy

Ideal Home
Haru would thrive in:
• A calm, stable household
• A patient adopter willing to move at her pace
• Someone who understands shy dogs
• A home that values quiet companionship
She may not be the right match for a very loud, high-energy household.
If you are willing to wait for her heart to open, she will give you a level of trust and loyalty that is incredibly special. Now she just needs someone to choose her — and stay.
